Microneedling in Redhill

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin treatment that uses a device containing fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries within the skin. This stimulates the skin's natural healing response and encourages the production of collagen and elastin, helping to improve the overall quality, texture and appearance of the skin over time.

Microneedling is a versatile treatment that can be tailored to a range of skin concerns, including acne scarring, enlarged pores, uneven skin texture, fine lines and wrinkles, and a general loss of firmness or radiance. It can also be used as part of a wider skin rejuvenation plan, depending on your individual needs.

At Summer House Wellness, every treatment is tailored to your skin, concerns and aesthetic goals. We take a considered approach to treatment, with the aim of supporting healthier-looking skin and creating gradual, natural-looking improvements rather than changing your appearance.

What Can Microneedling Help with?

Acne Scarring

Microneedling can help to improve the appearance of certain types of acne scarring by stimulating collagen production and encouraging the skin to remodel. It can help soften uneven texture and make depressed scars less noticeable over time.

Enlarged Pores

Microneedling can help improve the appearance of enlarged pores by encouraging collagen production and supporting smoother, more refined-looking skin texture.

Fine Lines & Wrinkles

By stimulating collagen and elastin, microneedling can help to soften the appearance of fine lines and improve the overall smoothness and texture of the skin.

Overall Skin Rejuvenation

Microneedling can also be used more generally to support skin quality, helping the skin to appear smoother, fresher and more radiant as collagen production and skin remodelling take place over time.

Uneven Skin Texture

Microneedling encourages the skin's natural renewal and remodelling processes, making it a versatile option for skin that feels uneven, rough or lacks smoothness.

Skin Firmness

As collagen production is stimulated, microneedling may help improve the appearance of mild skin laxity and support firmer, more resilient-looking skin over time.

Uneven Skin Tone

Microneedling may help improve the appearance of uneven skin tone and certain forms of pigmentation, depending on the cause and your individual skin type. A consultation will help determine whether it is an appropriate treatment for you.

Microneedling uses fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries within the skin. This triggers the skin’s natural healing response, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin and encouraging the skin to remodel over time.

As new collagen and elastin are produced, the skin can gradually become smoother, firmer and more even in texture. This makes microneedling a versatile treatment for concerns such as acne scarring, enlarged pores, fine lines and uneven skin texture, with results developing progressively rather than immediately.

The depth and treatment approach can be adjusted according to the area being treated, your skin and the concern being addressed, allowing each treatment to be personalised to your individual needs.

How does Microneedling work?

Who May be suitable?

Microneedling may be suitable for adults who would like to improve the overall quality and texture of their skin, including those concerned with acne scarring, enlarged pores, fine lines, uneven texture or a loss of firmness.

Your suitability will be assessed during your consultation, taking into consideration your skin, medical history, current skincare and the results you would like to achieve. Microneedling may not be appropriate if you have an active skin infection, active inflammatory acne in the treatment area, certain skin conditions, a tendency to form keloid scars or other factors that may affect healing.

The aim is to ensure that microneedling is appropriate for your skin and that your treatment plan is tailored to your individual concerns, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

Your journey at Summer House Wellness begins with a consultation with me, where we'll discuss your concerns, medical history and desired outcome.Skin boosters are not a one-size-fits-all treatment, and the most appropriate option will depend on your skin, concerns and desired outcome. During your consultation, we will discuss your skin quality and goals and recommend the treatment that is most appropriate for you.

The aim is not to change your features, but to support and enhance the quality of your skin, creating a subtle, refreshed and natural-looking result.

What To Expect At The Consultation

What to expect with Microneedling

Treatment time: 45-60 minutes
Downtime & Recovery: Immediately following treatment, the skin may appear red and feel warm, sensitive or slightly tight, similar to a mild sunburn. Some redness or sensitivity can remain for a few days, while the skin continues to recover and remodel.
Results: Microneedling results develop gradually as the skin produces new collagen and elastin. Skin may begin to look fresher and more even in the weeks following treatment, with further improvements in texture, firmness and the appearance of scarring developing over time.
Treatment Course: The number of treatments recommended will depend on your individual skin concerns and desired results. A course of treatments is often recommended, particularly for concerns such as acne scarring and uneven texture, with treatments spaced apart to allow the skin time to recover and remodel.

Treatment After Care

Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms and excessive heat for the first 24–48 hours, as these may increase redness and irritation while the skin is recovering.

Avoid direct sun exposure while your skin is healing and use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. Protecting the skin helps reduce irritation and the risk of pigmentation changes. This includes sunbeds.

Some redness, warmth, sensitivity and mild swelling can be expected following treatment. Avoid picking, scratching or unnecessarily touching the treated area, and allow your skin time to recover naturally. Results develop gradually as new collagen is produced.

Use a gentle cleanser and soothing moisturiser as advised, and avoid active or potentially irritating ingredients such as retinoids and exfoliating acids until your skin has settled.
