Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are a treatment option used to restore or enhance volume, soften the appearance of certain facial lines and support the natural contours of the face. They may be considered for areas such as the lips, cheeks, chin, jawline and around the mouth, depending on your individual features and aesthetic goals.

At Summer House Wellness, I take a personalised and considered approach to every treatment. Your facial structure, proportions, skin and individual concerns will be considered as part of your consultation, with the aim of creating a subtle, balanced result that complements rather than changes your natural appearance.

How does Dermal Filler work?

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that can be used to restore or enhance volume, soften the appearance of certain facial lines and support the natural contours of the face. Most dermal fillers used today contain hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body, which helps attract and retain moisture within the skin.

The effect and longevity of treatment can vary depending on the area treated, the product used and the individual. Your practitioner will discuss what may be appropriate for you, including the areas being considered, expected results and any potential risks or side effects.

I believe that good aesthetic treatment should be subtle, considered and tailored to the individual, with the aim of enhancing your natural features rather than changing the way you look.

Who May be suitable?

Dermal fillers may be suitable for adults who are looking to restore lost volume, enhance or define certain facial features, or soften the appearance of lines and folds. They can be used for a range of concerns, from subtle lip enhancement to supporting facial contours and proportions.

Suitability will always depend on your individual features, medical history, treatment goals and expectations. A consultation will allow your practitioner to assess your needs and discuss whether dermal filler is an appropriate option for you, including any alternatives that may be more suitable.

FAQs

Does Dermal Filler look natural?

1

Yes. When used thoughtfully and appropriately, dermal filler can be used to create subtle changes that complement your natural features. The amount and placement of filler will depend on your individual facial structure, proportions and treatment goals.

How long does Dermal Filler last?

2

The longevity of dermal filler varies depending on the area treated, the product used and the individual. Some areas may require more frequent treatment than others. Your practitioner will discuss the expected longevity of your chosen treatment during your consultation.

Will I be swollen after Dermal Filler?

3

Some swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising are common following treatment. The amount of swelling can vary depending on the individual and the area treated. It can take several days for the initial swelling to settle, so your immediate result may not reflect the final outcome.

Are Dermal Fillers Safe?

4

Dermal fillers are generally well tolerated when appropriately selected and administered by a suitably trained practitioner, but like any injectable treatment, they carry risks. These include common effects such as bruising and swelling, as well as rare but serious complications such as vascular occlusion. Your risks, aftercare and what to look out for will be discussed as part of your consultation and treatment.
